Micro Credit Program

ORNOB started its Micro Credit Program from August' 1998. It was initiated at such a time when Bangladesh was facing the chattering experience of the devastating flood of the century. ORNOB tried to help the rural poor of Gazipur district at that time.

At the early stage its micro credit program was not so organized as it lackoper and experienced guide. But over the time period it enriched with the challenging experience directly getting from field level. ORNOB developed its operational policy not by merely following others. Rather it is based mainly on experience and demand of the local community.

Our main focus is the village women and men. Initially we started with 2000/- taka per person as loan money. But over the years we learned that this small money doesn’t help them at all. So later on we increased the ceiling to many folds. By doing this we can select perfect members who can utilize the money and make sustainable projects by their own.
