Child Rights Projects
All activities of Children Led Advocacy for the Rights of the Child Project has been completed as per pre determined quarterly action micro planning at the Union level under Sreepur Upozila. Specially challenges, best learning and justification of all activities are high lighted in this project completion report. All kinds of activities are done as per quarterly micro planning adjusted with approved budget. The whole year activities of project are completed to implement the children rights at the community as based objectives of project.
Trainig:
There are four types of training Delivered among the Children Organization. These are Constitution making training, Leadership & Management, Resource Mobilization and Documentation & Record Keeping. Each training are imparted among 20 Children participants of 10 Children Organization of Union level.
Best Learing:
1) Above 4 types at training are more important for Children organization development.
2) Participants were really interested to get this training to make good friendship & relationship.
3) Children can helps to arrange any cultural program the community development and awareness.
4) CO strengthening capacity is increasing day by day.
5) Change of friendly behavior makes children mental development.
Life Skills training:
In last fiscal year 2 packages at peer educator life skills training are imparted among 40 peer educator by selecting from 20 COs under 3 Unions at Sreepur Upozila. This is the first time for ORNOB provided life Skills training . Package 1 for peer educator life Skills training is completed in residential on 18-23/05/08 and rest at other package is completed in non residential on 20-25/03/08 . Life Skills session are conducted by peer educator among the all member at 20 COs.
Best Learing:
1) Peer educator thinks that they are trainer .
2) Peer educator imparted training among CO members.
3) Peer educator earns basic knowledge at TOT on life skills.
4) Efficiency of environment adjustment capacity is increased by participants.
5) Enter relationship among peer educator builds up at 3 unions.
6) Increase managerial and operational capacity to provide life smoothly.
Joyful Session:
This Children event is introduced from 2nd quarter as named materials supports to COs. Joyful session is most attractive program to strengthen the COs performance. Total performed activities at joyful session are 209 in 3 Unions at. COs. Cricket bat & ball & others playing materials are distributed among 4 COs in Dhaladia for piloting the game improvement.
Best Learing:
1) COs are able to capacity by increasing participants.
2) CO members performance increase through performing any activities .
3) Children and community involvement increase to sustain the Club.
4) Link up the Children COs to the community.
5) Child Rights awareness spreads out in community.
6) Message distributes properly by COs member about incident of children violence in community.
Justification of Joyful Session:
1) Club performance may increase day by day through Joyful session.
2) Participants presence will highly satisfied.
3) Club capability will strengthen in future.
4) Community and guardian awareness about child rights will promote.
5) Children development will be ensured by joyful session.
6) Efficiency of club operation and management will increase.
7) Leadership development will form in COs .
Musical Orientation:
Total Musical orientation session are done only 31 whole the year at Rajabari & Prohladpur Union. Due to religious situation in Gosinga union musical orientation is not done. Musical orientation is more important for COs Recreation.
Best Learing:
1) Children Cultural development are satisfactory.
2) Children are available in different cultural competition.
3) Creativity cultural activities are arranged by cultural team.
4) Children makes cultural program willingly.
5) Mental refreshment makes a develop minded.
Chair for:
To promote the community awareness for implementing the child Rights in community though networking and advocacy by Children and also focused on children in Community. Child fair was held on 10/03/08 at Gazipur Union, 14/03/08 at Prohladpur Union, 19/03/08 at Mawna Union, 25/03/08 at Gasinga Union and 19/04/08 Rajabari Union. Specially Gosings, Prohladpur and Rajabari Children had arranged the faire program by mass Children gathering .
Best Learing:
1) A program is presented by children, audience by children, reported by children and participants children.
2) Combination of children and community may arrange big program supported by partners organization.
3) Mass children gathering makes relationship development among broader sence.
4) Child faire may change children attitude.
5) Learning and sharing is exercised.
Child Journalist:
Only Rajabari Union Child journalist perform their activities. They operate the meeting monthly basis and their committee read a daily news paper. They prepares report in their area About any children based program.
Best Learing:
1) Children thinking publishes by this activities.
2) They may collect real report related to child rights.
3) They may do media coverage.
4) Child abuse may reduced by their report collection.
5) Increasing child leadership and report writing capacity.
Children Event:
Children event are performed national day observation and child rights week. This event are focused on child rights week. International women's day, Mothers language day, Independent day, national victory day & different types of cultural activities, rally, discussion session and cultural competition.
Best Learing:
1) Understanding about national day.
2) Attend in different cultural program.
3) Children mass gathering at union level.
4) Relation development between COs members and non COs members.
5) Children mass gathering at union level.
Display Program:
In last year, 3 publication named ORNOB BARTA published as quarterly basis. In this three publication childrens' written, child-led documentation, children information, quiz for children, children thinking etc has been published. This publications are distributed among COs , VDCs, Different schoosl, Partners, govt. & non govt. organization AND Plan Bangladesh unit offices.
Best Learing:
1) Most COs are interested to publish their document
2) Most COs want to work with print and electronic media.
3) COs want training on news letter publication.
4) To develop publication skill they COs want to read daily news paper.
5) COs want to publish their written intensively.
Exposure Visit:
The Unit of Children Council (UCC) has visited the activities of Children Organization at Kuimari union in Jaldhaka Upazila under Nilphamari district through supported by Jaldhaka Program Unit of Plan Bangladesh.
Shikha:
Now Shikha is free from illness and she is Going to school regularly and playing with friends Easily. Total treatment cost of DVR ( Double Valve Replacement) is above Tk. 2 lack. Which was totally provided by ORNOB . Besides this our regular activities are attend in Children Organization meeting in 132 COs, CBO meeting in 41 VDCs , CDP meeting, Community Reflection meeting , COs follow up, Networking meeting with UCC, Union Parishad,, GO / NGO meeting, NCTF meeting, partner coordination meeting, News letter distribution, Exposure visit, Birth date collection, children collection for visitor, cultural support to local schools, government or non government organization etc. activities are completed as per project need during the whole year.
